Great article, thanks for passing this along. The big-ag business/lobbying model keeps “food” artificially cheap at best, of course, due to corn subsidies, etc. Not exactly news for those of us who keep an ear to the ground, and it’s pretty much the same thing that Michael Pollan, Andrew Kimbrell, Marion Nestle, Wes Jackson, Wendell Berry, et al have been saying all along, but the longer we keep yelling about it, the more folks will ultimately hop on the reality train. I can’t help but worry, though, that the current economic situation will only serve to derail those efforts (stop me before I make another railroad reference!)… not to be a Cassandra or anything, just sayin’ is all.
