My heart did sink when I saw Pok Pok's menu and it said "No MSG"...

The irony, of course, is that all of these places have plenty of glutamates in their food in the form of fish sauce, soy sauce, etc. I think one of the most unfotunate foods to disappear is liquamen, or Mediterranean fish sauce. btw, if you do searches for MSG you'll find all these Art Bell wannabes who essentially try to get people to avoid glutamates of all kinds, including things like:

"natural chicken flavoring"
"yeast extract"
"soy protein"
"amino acids"

Of course, MSG has a VERY specific meaning and most of these DO NOT apply. But they call them MSG because of the fear factor involved.
